Settlers of Deckerville
I would like to thank all the descendants for the help they gave me to make this page a great success. We will have pictures, history and genealogy of the settlers of the area. William Peake/Peeke - From all available records, it is certain that William Peake was the first white man to settle within the limits of what is now called Deckerville. Mr. Peake homesteaded the 60 acres of land which now extends south of the main corners of the town on the east side of the street. Mr. Peake built his shanty where Ben Ogden once lived. (information found in the "Trodden Pathways"). |
