Fire Department News

The Fire Department will be taking delivery of a new water tanker in late April.

It is a 4000 gallon Freightliner Vacuum Tanker built by EAM out of Miami, FL. Being a vacuum tanker, it has the ability to fill itself out of a pond, stream, lake etc as well as fill from hydrants also. Most tankers require an another truck or a floating pump to fill them from a pond. Cost with all accessories will be around $290,000.

 

Also burning permits are issued thru the Village office or by calling Larry VanNorman at 810-376-4050 or Tracy Hoff at 810-376-9505. They are free, but failure to get one and call the sheriff's dept after receiving it will result in a $1500 fire run if we are dispatched.
