DCDC INFORMATION DCDC Business Meeting Date: Oct. 13, 2009 Place: Village Office Time: 12:00 p.m. Lunch: Served for $5.00 DCDC Round Up Meeting Corporation (DCDC) Round Up Meeting Date: Aug 11, 2009 Place: Deckerville Pool - Swimming and BBQ Time: 5:30 p.m. History of the DCDC A group of involved people have been meeting since Feb, 2001, with the blessing of the Village Council, to determine the priorities for the future of the Village of Deckerville. The committees, were developed with the help of council member Gail Innis and community member Rita Decker who proceed to research available grants and re-loan programs available through USDA Rural Development. With the participation of 15 members, they had identified two important issues facing the Village: business development and housing development.
They had a brainstorming session at one of the early meetings. They identified approximately 15 issues, but when they really looked at them, most of them fell under just 2 major issues -- the lack of new business and housing. The people of the community are doing a wonderful job of getting involved with doing a streetscape with banners.
