Deckerville Dickens of A Christmas I will keep last years information up until I receive this years information Pictures from the Dickens of a Christmas - These are from last year I will put up this years pictures as soon as I get them done.
This years Dickens of a Christmas was a great success with the, TLC Used Book Store having Mrs. Claus reading to the children and having a sing-a-long with John & Sandy Hagerman, the Deckerville Community School Band playing Christmas Carols, Mainstreet Memories having Jackie Salowitz taking children's pictures with Santa, Apsey Funeral Home having free coffee, cocoa and cookies on Mainstreet, Santa arriving on a Fire Truck, Santa lighting the Christmas Tree, Carolers strolling Mainstreet and the East Marion Church having a soup/chili luncheon. There were many business this year that had drawings for prizes and there was a Home Decorating Contest as part of the Dickens of a Christmas held in the Village of Deckerville for homes within the village limits. Some of the businesses in the Village put up Christmas trees and either decorated themselves or had the Deckerville Elementary School help them by making ornaments. These trees were judged and given prizes. The school children did a wonderful job making this year ornaments, we cannot thank them enough. Please take the time to thank Tracy Chalcraft of TLC Used Book Store and Rose Loss of Loss TV and Appliances for their hard work to get the community involved in so many wonderful events this year.
